Veterinary Technology: Creating a Citation Using the APA Style in ProQuest Databases

To assist all Veterinary Technology students.

How to Cite in ProQuest

The first step is to open San Juan College and click Library

Click Proquest, it will then take you to the Proquest library database to search for articles.

Enter your search terms

For this example I started to type veterinary then used the drop down to click on equine veterinary.

Also if you are asked to find scholarly or peer-reviewed journals then click the box that says Peer reviewed!

Also to find articles that are only Full text then click on full text.

In this example, I am going to click on our first result.

Now this is important. You will want to cite your resources. And with most library databases they provide an easy cite button that you click on Cite.

Next a pop-up will appear. You have many options to cite a paper. Click APA 6th - American Psychological Association, 6th Edition

If you are not using APA look through the drop down menu. And do not forget to click Change

With your mouse, click and drag highlight, then copy and paste into your Word document.

Always make sure to double check the citation to see if it follows the correct format! If you have questions about that please do not hesitate to contact your online librarian.

That's it. You're done. That is how you use the cite button in Proquest.
