The AISES is a nonprofit organization designed to increase the representation of Indigenous and Pacific Islanders in the STEM fields. The organization provides various events and opportunities for American Indian high school and college aged students to engage with STEM. It also advocates that Indigenous perspectives on STEM are unique and have the opportunity to benefit the field.

The Animal Behavior Society is a non-profit, 501(3)(c) professional organization dedicated to promoting education and research in the field of animal behavior.

"The Genetics Society of America (GSA), founded in 1931, is the professional membership organization for scientific researchers and educators in the field of genetics. Our members work to advance knowledge in the basic mechanisms of inheritance, from the molecular to the population level".

The National Academy of Sciences charter commits the Academy to provide scientific advice to the government “whenever called upon” by any government department. The Academy receives no compensation from the government for its services.

The National Association of Biology Teachers (NABT) is a national organization designed to provide training and connection between biology teachers across the country. It has been the recognized "leader in life science education."

A national Native American non-profit organization, the Native American Fish & Wildlife Society, serves as a communication medium for self-determined Native American fish and wildlife managers. They serve as a communication network between tribal, federal, and state fish and wildlife management entities.

SNACS is an organization that is designed to provide support for Chicanos/Hispanics and American Indians in the STEM field. The group hosts programs and exhibits as well as connects recent graduates to jobs.

Founded in 1937, The Wildlife Society empowers wildlife professionals to advance conservation through science, community, and professional excellence.

The Zoological Association of America (ZAA) stands as one of the nation's largest nonprofit zoological and wildlife organizations. The organization serves as an accreditation organization for zoos and wildlife sanctuaries and a professional organization for people working in the field of zoology and marine biology. ZAA upholds the highest level of professional standards in animal welfare, safety, and ethics.

For many people who wish to continue their studies in biology, they may end up going to University of New Mexico or other colleges throughout New Mexico. The New Mexico Academy of Science is an affiliate of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and a member of the National Association of Academies of Science. The organization assists the field of science by assisting researchers in publishing their research, running outreach for students interested in STEM careers, and awarding popular educators.

Zoos and Aquariums, while somewhat controversial, play an important role in conservation as well as helping people experience the majesty of nature. In New Mexico, the largest major zoo is Albuquerque's New Mexico BioPark. The New Mexico Biopark Society is an organization designed to financially support and foster the development of the Zoo and its associated aquarium and botanic garden.

The New Mexico Consortium (NMC) is a non-profit corporation formed by three New Mexico universities in order to facilitate research in the state of New Mexico, and specifically to increase research collaborations between universities, industry and Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). Science is increasingly collaborative; tackling problems at a large scale requires cross-institutional, cross-disciplinary teams. The NMC strives to increase research collaborations, support scientists, and encourage scientific start-up company development in New Mexico.

New Mexico's Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (NM EPSCoR) is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) to build the state's capacity to conduct scientific research. Faculty and students from NM universities and colleges are working to realize New Mexico's potential for sustainable energy development. NM EPSCoR is also cultivating a diverse, well-qualified Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) workforce and supporting a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.

New Mexico Science Teacher's Association is the state affiliate of the National Science Teaching Association. The organization is designed to support teachers in the sciences as well as to provide trainings in the most recent teaching methodologies.

The New Mexico Biotechnology & Biomedical Association (NMBio) is a professional and lobbying organization focused around developing the biotechnology field in New Mexico. The organization connects businesses across the state, helps people interested in the field find jobs, and lobby lawmakers to further foster this growing field.
